Going Round In Circles.

Tuesday morning we set off south in hope of a great adventure and lots of fun antics along the way. Our first stop was harrow skatepark,  an old school classic with it's creative concrete shapes and a surface that would scrape the skin off any object, leaving even kneepads in tears if they went down to say hello. The rain came just as we arrived but it didn't have a chance at stopping us, we were hyped and kept those wheels rolling through all the puddles. Bill, Bay 66 and a huge mini ramp session finished the evening, it was then back to base camp for food, tea and chill before slipping into a deep slumber.  The next morning petty woke me up with a smile on his face that could only mean one thing. THE SUN WAS OUT. Breakfast was made and before I knew it we were setting off into the streets of London with no fixed plans and no intent on arriving home anytime soon. All day we cruised, with occasional stops for amusing snippets of city life, or a grand building or some mad vehicle trying to thread the needle in a jam packed road system. By around 5 o'clock our bellies were starting to grumble so we started making our way into the heart of the city to meet the greatest gal in whole wide world for a burger and a drink. After the hole in our stomachs were gone, we enjoyed a little chill in an empty park before saying our goodbyes and jumping back on our wheels for a good ol' night cruise. The streets had emptied in most places, but lively vibes were all around us. We pedalled and pedalled following the rivers, stopping here and there to hear stories from Petty's childhood with Fred in the city. Around 10:30 We arrived at Trafalgar Square, welcomed by beautiful lighting and some sick beats being blasted out by some local chillers. Petty was instantly pulled in by it all and jumped straight into one of those sessions that will never be forgotten. Thing went down, smiles went up and soon enough we were back on our bikes, weaving and wobbling between the traffic once again with faces like those who believe in Mr. Claus the night before christmas.  Many miles later and we arrived back at our start off point. 13 hours of bliss, meant after a quick brew our heads were soon nestled in our pillows. Last day in London, so we decided to head back to brixton and see some of the boys at brixton cycles, big shout out to rob, Pettys brother in arms, for bringing the hype and big smiles to the session both days. A quick session at Stockwell and another brief chill with the political animal literature fanatic meant it was time to be heading back and packing up for the 5 hour crawl to bristol that awaited us. Bristol was the perfect wind down for the 2 days of energy burning fun, lots of chilling, lots of bike videos, a surreal set of photos from a hiking trip in the himalayas and a mind blowing film about a man going full nature out in Alaska for 35 years. And most of all Freddie, Petty's best friend, one of those people I so rarely get to meet in this world, a person with passion and creativity for the things he does, an adventurer and radical wheelist and just a fucking awesome dude.
